Plot route, check weather, VHF on, deploy charts
Deploy headsets and life vests
Close & double-dog all portholes
Secure all doors, hatches, drawers inside (especially refrigerator/galley)
Confirm decks clear/clean/secure
Stow antennas/mast if required
Confirm dinghy/bikes/grill/aft deck box/Davits all secure
Place taffrail table in down/locked position
Turn off shore power at panel
Communicate departure plan with crew
At podium: Kill breaker and disconnect shore power
Stow power cables
Engine room:
Turn on inverter
Confirm engine cooling valve is open
At boat panel: Turn on switches for inverter and parallel bus A & B
Turn on “underway” nav/operation switches, air compressor
Turn off: hot water heater, battery charger
Start engine
Confirm cooling water being pumped out transom
Confirm alternator is charging battery banks
Confirm necessary AC/DC equipment powered and operating
Turn on remaining navigation and control equipment
Note departure time/mileage/EH in logbook
Check bow thruster
Confirm departure plan with crew
Check that ALL lines are untied from dock, check for extras
Stow ALL fenders and lines before clearing harbor,
Engine room check while at sea - leaks, temp, loose items, unusual noise
Alternator displaying 13.8V (?)
