Leaving the Boat at the Dock to Go Home (CHECKLIST)

LEAVING THE BOAT AT THE DOCK TO GO HOME CHECKLIST

• INSIDE

  • Close all windows/portholes

  • AC panel: turn everything off EXCEPT battery charger and refrigerator

  • DC panel: turn off everything EXCEPT cabin lights fwd, Panel 3 and Sumps (2)

  • Panel 3: leave network on so we can find the boat on Marine Traffic

  • Set thermostats to ‘OFF’ (one in pilot house, one in aft stateroom)

  • Engine room: Close seacocks for heads, engine cooling and mermaids

  • Pilot house: Cover all instruments

  • Turn off the icemaker

• On deck: 

  • Put up windshield screen

  • Take in bow seat cushions

  • Put bow burgee in pilot house

  • Remove flags/burgees from mast, stow in aft deck box

  • Ensure all deck items are secured

  • Place taffrail table in down/locked position

  • Make sure you have a key

  • Lock pilot house doors

  • Close & latch all portholes

  • Make sure the boat is tied to the dock (2 springlines, bow, stern)

  • Close & latch gates
