Returning to Port (Docking) CHECKLIST

RETURNING TO PORT (DOCKING) CHECKLIST

• Communicate approach and docking plan with crew

• Hail harbor/bridge if appropriate (Channel xx, yy)

• Radar off

• Fenders out

• Secure lines to dock

• Note arrival time/mileage/EH

• Kill engine

• Turn off panel “underway” nav/operation switches

• Turn off inverter

• Change panel switches to shore power (don’t turn on yet)

• Connect shore power cables

• At podium: Turn on breaker

• At boat panel: Turn on shore power switches

  • Make sure battery charger is on

  • Ensure battery banks are charging from shore power

• Charge and stow headsets

• Engine room check and swap tanks if appropriate

• Complete log entries

• Check docking lines and fenders
